Keith Reinhard is Chairman Emeritus of DDB Worldwide, which ranks among the world’s largest and most creative advertising networks with 200 offices in 90 countries. As a working creative director, Keith was responsible for McDonald’s “You Deserve a Break Today” and State Farm’s long running theme “Like a Good Neighbor, State Farm Is There.” Teams under Keith’s direction created award-winning campaigns for Anheuser-Busch, Volkswagen, PepsiCo and others. In 1986 Keith was one of the architects of the advertising industry’s first and only three-way merger, creating Omnicom, which today ranks as one of the world’s largest advertising and marketing services holding company. Concurrent with the creation of Omnicom, Keith accomplished the merger of Doyle Dane Bernbach and Needham Harper Worldwide to create the present network, DDB Worldwide. Advertising Age has referred to Keith Reinhard as the advertising industry’s “soft-spoken visionary” and in 1999 named him one of the top 100 influentials in advertising history. Many of the media and compensation concepts first enunciated by Keith are now common practice in the industry. He was inducted into the Advertising Hall of Fame in 2007. From 2002 to 2010, Keith served as President of Business for Diplomatic Action, Inc. (BDA), a not-for-profit effort he founded to enlist the U.S. business community in actions aimed at improving the standing of America in the world. As the organization’s leader, Keith testified to the U.S. Congress and was broadly featured in the media, from the BBC, The Daily Show, Fox News, CNN, and CNBC to publications including The Economist, Fast Company, The Atlantic, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, the International Herald Tribune and The Financial Times. 2012 MCNY Graduation Speech from Mohamed Rezk, MBAJuly 19, 2012Mohamed Rezk, MBA MCNY Graduation speech 2012 Ladies and Gentlemen: families, friends, honorable guests and distinguished MCNY faculty, it’s a great honor to stand before you today on behalf of the graduating class of 2012 and reflect on our feelings in this great moment of our lives. I would like to share a story with you. When I started the school I was terrified. More than couple of years has passed by since I finished my bachelor degree and there I was… In school again… reading through the syllabuses and class requirements. But a week has passed by and we had our first assignment that I decided to complete, thinking – I will give a try, if this doesn’t work I can always drop out. I got tense and replied: Example of what? What not to do? And 18 months later I am standing in the front of you and together we can celebrate our accomplishment! During our journey in MCNY, three things became essential parts of our life: assignments, presentations, and group projects. As we all know the group projects were the most challenging, but in the end they taught us a fundamental lesson: to be team players and how to become good leaders. At MCNY, we discovered how to become job creators, not job seekers. Our constructive action classes taught us what is required to turn a simple idea into a successful business, we learned how to write an ultimate business plan, and how to finance and market that business plan. Our study abroad was one of the most valuable experiences in the program, one that enhanced and expanded our horizons. We experienced the business world in a global context and developed a more sophisticated perspective. The study abroad also strengthened our friendships through the work we did and the fun we had… But I am not sharing the details. What happened in London stays in London. Graduation is not an end; it is a beginning of our new journey to pursue our dreams. I would like to congratulate and thank you all. On behalf of the graduate students of 2012. I would like to thank all the professors and staff of MCNY. Thank you for what you have given us: for your time, energy, patience, and all your hard work. Our parents, spouses, siblings, and all our loved ones that are witnessing our graduation today, There is no words that could express how thankful we are that we have you in our lives. Thank you for your support, encouragement, prayers and understanding Congratulation to All Email this · Subscribe to this Feed · Bookmark This! Posted by Prof. Rachel Yager in Student. Business Talk from Restaurant Owner and Chef Brian PalmerMarch 15, 2012Exclusive to MBA Students of Metropolitan College of New York, Restaurant Entrepreneur and Chef Brian Palmer is giving a talk on running restaurants in New York City. Please join us on March 21st, 5:15 – 6:15 pm at MCNY 11th floor Conference room. The talk will start at 5:30 pm. Please join us for networking and light refreshment. One of a new breed of influential chef-restaurateurs in America, Brian Washington Palmer, 34 is credited with reviving Harlem’s culinary heritage. Blending fresh ingredients with the succulent, jazzy flavors associated with Harlem rich artistic history, his innovations in cooking have been enjoyed and praised by local political leaders, Hollywood stars and fellow chefs alike. The California-born chef began his culinary training at age 18. While studying abroad at University of Paris, St. Denis where he took classes in culinary arts, and developed his creativity in the kitchen of several restaurants in Paris, including China Club, and American-style eatery, The Mustang Café. Brian returned to the United States in 1996, and soon became the star attraction at New York’s popular uptown bistro, Bleu– both as chef and part-owner. After the opening of their newest uptown bar and lounge, The Monkey Room, he decided to venture further south to establish his current restaurant Native located on Harlem’s up and coming “Lenox Strip.” Native’s casual chic interior and ultra cool lounge/restaurant vibe has won acclaim and makes for an inviting and popular stop for brunch after church on Sundays. Its decor is warm, and blends of basic colors that put people as ease. The ambiance is classic with rough and raw elements that are in perfect harmony to Native’s eclectic and flavorful cuisine. Washington-Palmer’s trademark cooking with “flavors that pop”, has enhanced his popularity with the Manhattan “foodie” crowd and the local Harlem artists who have discovered Native as an alternative for going “downtown” for a happening bar scene and world-class cooking. Some favorite dishes include the Pan-Seared Catfish served with a pecan-morita chile sauce with cheddar cheese grits and Moroccan Fried Chicken in a walnut sauce served with seared collard greens and mashed potatoes.
