Welcome to Bachelor of Business Administration in Healthcare Systems Management!!!

The healthcare industry would encompass the largest increase in healthcare jobs by the year 2018 generating 3.2 million of them, greater than any other industry, according the US Department of Labor Statistics.

In response to the enormous demand for the qualified professionals to manage the ever expanding and most complex healthcare industry, the Metropolitan College of New York has recently launched a BBA in Healthcare Systems Management degree program that covers all aspects of healthcare industry management, such as business, healthcare administration, human resources management, medical insurance and billing, health information management, health information technology, legal and ethical aspects of healthcare, and healthcare financing, in addition to basic healthcare courses – human Anatomy and Physiology, medical terminology, and Pathophysiology, etc. The program has built-in practicum as Constructive Actions (CA) every semester to marry the classroom learning with real life situations.

The graduates of this program will be able to work as healthcare administrative professionals in various healthcare settings, inclusive of physician group practices, general and specialty hospitals, nursing homes, hospice facilities, and ancillary medical services (physical therapy, pharmaceutical firms, diagnostic labs, and healthcare research and education) under diverse titles as manager, administrator, information manager, project manager, health information security manager, and healthcare quality manager. These healthcare services managers are typically referred to as executives and administrators and are responsible for planning, directing, coordinating and supervising the delivery of healthcare services. Additionally, the graduates can also launch their own healthcare business ventures and consultancies in healthcare management, helath information technology, medical billing, and medical transcriptions, just to name a few.

The graduates of this program can sit for several highly respected industry standard certification exams like CAHIMS/CPHIMS (Certified Associate in Health Information and Management Systems/Certified Professional in Health Information and Management Systems), CPHIT (Certified Professional in Health Information Technology), PMP (Project Management Professional), CPC (Certified Professional Coder), etc.

The program can be completed in a short span of two years and 8 months. Since it is also open to students transferring from other professional colleges, it can be completed even earlier.
