Application Process for International Students

The admission process for international students is three-fold:

Step I

The student must first submit a completed application and satisfy all academic requirements as listed for the program they wish to study in.

A completed application package consists of the following documents:

  • Completed Application accompanied with non-refundable application fee (US$45 for Graduate programs and US$30 for Undergraduate programs) (www.applyweb.com/aw?acc)
  • Official Transcripts and WES evaluation of academic documents . (www.wes.org)
  • 2 letters of recommendation
  • Admission essay (check admission requirements for your program of interest for details)
  • Official TOEFL scores (www.toefl.org)
  • Immunization records (for Mumps, Measles and Rubella)

Residents of foreign countries should initiate the application process as early as possible to meet the following deadlines:

  • October 1st for the Spring Semester (beginning in January)
  • February 1st for the Summer Semester (beginning in May)
  • July 20th for the Fall Semester (beginning in September)

Please note that the program you are applying for may have admissions requirements other than listed above. Please check the website for details.

Based on the information provided the student will be granted acceptance in to the Degree program at the MCNY

Step II

All international students are required to provide documents of financial support, demonstrating that they have the required funds to cover their tuition, housing expenses and living expenses for the first year of their study. The students is also required to demonstrate that the funds will be made available to them as and when required and will be enough to support them for the entire duration of their study at MCNY. These documents can be in form of bank statements, sponsorship letters, scholarships and grant letters, loan documents, and others.

The College will then issue the student an I-20 form.

Step III

The student is required to take the I-20 along with other required documents to a visa –issuing office in the country of their residency and apply for an F-1 (student visa). The issuance of the visa is strictly at the discretion of the officer in the visa-issuing office and the College does not bear any responsibility regarding the same.
