Coordinator of Student Support and Development
Metropolitan College of New York, a non-profit, regionally accredited college offering associate, bachelor's and master's degrees, and located in the Soho/Tribeca section of Manhattan and in the Bronx, seeks an experienced student advisor who will serve as the Coordinator of Student Support and Development for the Office of Student Affairs. The Coordinator will work closely with the Dean of Students to create, implement and promote a wide variety of activities and programs to broaden student development and promote student success and satisfaction. Primary responsibilities include advisement and retention for second and third term undergraduate students; coordinating and managing services for students with special needs in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act; serving as a member of the Retention Committee and other committees; drafting reports and proposals; working with webmaster to maintain Student Affairs webpage; overseeing the development and maintenance of Student Servicesí external resources and referral materials; working closely with ďAbility to BenefitĒ students to ensure they meet all requirements to obtain GED.

Requirements: 

Masterís degree plus two years of relevant higher education experience, or Bachelorís degree plus 5 years of relevant higher education experience. Must be proficient in MS Office and Internet; experience with student information system desired. The ideal candidate must have excellent written, analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills, in addition to superior customer service abilities, and demonstrated ability to multitask and work autonomously. Must be able to maintain discretion in confidential matters. Evening and weekend hours required.
