Student Activities/Student Life
There is a lot to see and do beyond academics, and MCNY provides activities, resources, and leadership opportunities for students outside of the classroom. We believe that the learning and opportunities outside of the classroom are an integral part of your education. Getting involved is one decision you won't regret! So come on out to enjoy and participate along with other students. Beyond your own enjoyment, some of these activities look really good on a resume.
Clubs and Organizations
Joining a club or organization is a great way to get involved in the MCNY community. Students in clubs or organizations tend to do better in school, feel a greater connection to their college, and develop strong leadership skills. Whether you'd like to join an academic or specialized interest organization, there is an organization for you! Don't see a club that matches your interests? You can explore creating new clubs/organizations based on interest and demands of the student body.
Here is a list of the active clubs at MCNY:
- International Awareness Club
- Bowling League
- Dance Team
- Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE)
- Middle Eastern Society
- Talk About It
- Media Management Alliance

Student Government Association (SGA)
The Student Government Association gives the student body a voice in the governance of the college. The SGA represents ALL students. Through involvement in the decision-making process at the college, the SGA ensures that the interests and rights of all students are upheld. The SGA meets several times a week. Contact Samara Schindler, Coordinator of Student Life, and advisor to the SGA at for more information and meeting times.
We offer a comprehensive support system for International Students that includes resources for housing, insurance, international student loans, cultural institutions, as well as an International Awareness Club. Special events and skills workshops geared towards addressing the unique needs of the international students are also provided.
