MCNY Online Bookstore and Marketplace

Important news for MCNY students - Thanks to your feedback, the MCNY online bookstore now offers new features designed to make finding and purchasing your assigned books easier than ever before.

Now more than ever, your MCNY bookstore offers low prices, a huge selection of used books, and a large textbook marketplace so you can re-sell your books at the end of the term.

1. Visit http://metropolitan.textbookx.com/restart.php
2. Specify as much additional information as you can, including School, Purpose, and Dimension
3. Choose from the New, Used, or Marketplace marketplace books available for your courses
4. Add the books to your cart, then click "Check Out" and follow the on-screen instructions

Most orders will ship within 1 business day. There are various shipping options available including USPS economy shipping (free on retail books totaling over $49), UPS Ground, UPS 2nd Day and UPS Next Day.  At the beginning of each semester a special shipping option, Campus Pickup, will be available to students, so you can conveniently pickup your book order at the MCNY campus.  Details and dates will be listed prior to the start of the semester.

The bookstore accepts all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express) and school issued book vouchers.  If you don't have a credit card, or would prefer not to use one, you can set up an account with the MCNY Bursar's Office (see below) to receive a book voucher.

Book Advance Authorization

MCNY and Akademos are offering an online bookstore where you can purchase your books below list price. Students will be given a credit line of $100, $200, or $250, depending upon the amount of their estimated refund. If you do not use the line of credit, you will not be charged. If your total purchase is in excess of your credit line, you will have to pay the difference. If the purchase is less, the charge to your MCNY account will only reflect the actual amount of your purchase.

If you have a credit card and want to purchase your books on your own, go directly to the website http://metropolitan.textbookx.com.

If you are on a payment plan, don't have a credit card, but want to purchase books on line, you can come to the Bursar's Office, pay us, and we will grant you a line of credit. This credit line can only be used at the Akademos online bookstore. If you choose this option, any unused credit will be applied to your tuition account.

All you have to do is:

1. Obtain a book advance authorization form from the Bursar's Office or from the center administrators.
2. Fill out the authorization form and return it to the Bursar's Office so we can grant you a line of credit with Akademos.
3. Go to the website http://metropolitan.textbookx.com and order your books.
4. Have your books delivered to your home or place of work.

Textbookx.com is available now for students who want to buy their books with a credit card.

MCNY Bookstore On-Campus Distribution Fall 2009

This Summer Semester, you can choose to have your textbook order shipped to you, or pick it up on the MCNY campus at the next scheduled on-site date (see below).

Orders can be picked up at the Mail Room (on the 11th floor) during normal operating hours on these dates:

Please keep in mind that the website (http://metropolitan.textbookx.com) will be available before and after the on-site period. Orders can be placed from any internet location, not just where we are set up!
