Yasmine Alwan, LEC writing specialist, has taught writing at colleges, K-12 schools, community centers, hospitals and prisons in New York and California. She has an MFA in Writing from Bard College and an MA in English from NYU. She is also a LMSW. Read her posts here.
Polly Bresnick, LEC writing specialist, has taught writing and ESL to adults in New York, Oregon, and Argentina. She received her MFA in Writing from Sarah Lawrence College, and she hosts a monthly reading series in Brooklyn called Writers Reading to Writers. Read her posts here.
Barrington Scott is a math specialist at the LEC. He holds a Master’s in Applied Math from City College of New York and also a B.S. in Statistics from City College of New York. He is presently teaching at the Borough of Manhattan Community College as an Adjunct Math Instructor. Read his posts here.
Aleksandr Rusinov, a math specialist at the LEC,holds a Master’s of Science in Math and Master’s of Education from Columbia University and a Bachelor’s in computer science from Polytechnic University. Sandra Ariza has beenLEC office administrator since 2006. She holds a MPA from MCNY, and a BA in foreign language education from a regionally accredited institution. She provides administrative support and assistance to ensure the smooth operation of the LEC.
Parker Pracjek is Director of Academic Support. She holds her Master’s in Performance Studies from New York University. She also teaches critical thinking and public speaking at MCNY, writes fiction, and is a collage and puppet maker. Read her posts here.
Sujey Batista, Writing Specialist Emeritus, has her Masters in English from Stony Brook University. She has worked at the LEC for almost a year now and considers herself a “guru” of the CA.
