New York, NY/ Tuesday, June 30, 2015 — The METROPOLITAN COLLEGE OF NEW YORK (MCNY) School for Business is proud to announce the launch of a new Master’s degree in the field of Health Services. On June 5th, the New York State Education Department approved the College’s newest degree program, the Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Health Services and Risk Management.
The one-year accelerated MBA program will develop effective business professionals equipped to lead in a changing national and global healthcare business environment. Applications are being accepted now for Fall 2015 registration.
“The MBA in Health Services and Risk Management aims to prepare adult learners as leaders of the largest and fastest growing industry in the US – healthcare,” said Dr. Mohammad I. Bajwa, Professor and Program Director of Healthcare Management for the MCNY School for Business.
In the Health Services and Risk Management degree program, students will be preparing for a career focused on the business operations and management of healthcare organizations with emphasis on health services management, healthcare policy and law, healthcare technology management, healthcare quality management, healthcare data analytics, and healthcare project management.
Dr. Tilokie Depoo, Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the School for Business explains, “Employment within the healthcare industry continues to demonstrate consistent and sustained growth, where all projections point to an increase in the demand for professional managers. This program will prepare competent, educated, and trained professionals to fill these areas of need within the industry.”
The new program is part of exciting changes at MCNY as the college prepares for future growth. “The development of this innovative program comes as MCNY is building new campuses in the Financial District and in the Bronx.
