Metropolitan College of New York, a non-profit, regionally accredited college offering associate, bachelor’s and master’s degrees, with campuses in Manhattan and the Bronx, seeks a full-time Coordinator of Student Engagement in the Office of Student Services.
The Coordinator reports to the Director of Student Services and creates, implements, and promotes a wide variety of activities and programs to enrich new undergraduate student development, engagement and promote student success. The Coordinator, in addition to offering academic advisement for specific undergraduate programs, is charged with focusing on the needs and retention of first year students.
Master’s degree in higher education, counseling, educational leadership, psychology, or related field; minimum of two years of experience with programming and implementation particularly in higher education transition and retention programs. The candidate must also have the ability to interpret data to support the assessment of institutional retention data. Must be a self-starter with demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects, reach out and advise students, and ability to work a part of a team. The position will require some evenings and weekends, and flexibility to travel to each campus.
