MCNY seeks a creative Coordinator of Student Life/Advisor to enhance the educational, social, and leadership skills of students at MCNY. Reporting to the Director of Student Services, the Coordinator will play an integral role in planning and implementing strategies geared towards increasing student satisfaction and student retention. Primary responsibilities include student advising; developing student life programs; providing workshops for students; overseeing student organizations; and delivering and tracking all general services provided by the department.
Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Higher Education, Counseling, Social Work or related field with a minimum of 2 years of higher education experience and a solid understanding of academic service administration; experience in conflict mediation and understanding of student conduct issues; excellent analytical and effective communication skills; sound decision making abilities; and a results-oriented, positive approach to problem solving. Experience with a diverse student population and adult learners desired. Must be Microsoft Office proficient and have knowledge of Power Campus or similar information system. As part of the team, the Coordinator will be required to work some late evenings, occasional Saturdays, and travel to the Bronx campus as needed.
