Metropolitan College of New York (MCNY), an innovative, non-profit college that provides a uniquely effective model of Purpose-Centered Education, seeks a Development Manager to work in collaboration with the Chief Development Officer to expand fundraising capacity in support of the college and our students.

The Development Manager position is a unique opportunity to be an integral part of a team that will make a meaningful difference in the lives of adult students. The successful candidate, who will come with experience in higher education or another non-profit development setting, will work collaboratively to manage donor relations and stewardship as well as identify and research prospects.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
The ideal candidate for this position will have 2 years of relevant experience in a college, university or other non-profit development office with established annual fund, major gift, grants, and alumni affairs or donor programs. The candidate will have experience conducting prospect identification and donor research; database management; gift processing and reporting; facilitation of development mailing campaigns; working with donors and high level volunteer leadership; and implementing fundraising and stewardship events.
They will possess a strong understanding of donor relations, stewardship, and gift reporting; excellent written and verbal communication skills; a high level of accuracy and attention to detail; exceptional time management and organizational skills; the ability to manage priority projects simultaneously; the ability to work on projects independently or collaboratively as part of a team; a high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office, donor database/CRM systems and general research tools; strong interpersonal and relationship building skills; a strong work ethic and positive attitude; and a passion and commitment for our mission.
A Bachelor’s degree is required. This position might require occasional night and weekend work related to donor events.
Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the Development Manger will be responsible for gift processing and reporting; ensuring integrity and accuracy of donor database and related reports; executing timely customized donor acknowledgements; conducting prospect identification and research; maintaining accurate donor records; co-ordination of annual appeal and other donor mailings; maintaining stewardship calendar; assistance in planning and executing donor meetings and events as well as performing other duties as assigned.
