Holly Bonner, MPA, MSW, CASAC is an award winning mental health professional, writer, poet and the creator of Blind Motherhood, LLC. After losing her vision in 2012, Ms. Bonner developed her website, www.blindmotherhood.com. Blind Motherhood's mission is to demonstrate members of the blind and visually impaired community can parent safely, independently and effectively. A peer advisor with the American Foundation for the Blind (AFB), Holly is also the coordinator of the AFB's Blind Parenting Series. Ms. Bonner's articles about parenting while visually impaired have been featured in over 70 publications, including the prestigious Perkins School for the Blind and the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) United Kingdom. In May 2017, Ms. Bonner served as the keynote speaker for the NYS Commission for the Blind's Vision Rehabilitation & Employment Institute. In that same year, Holly was also the recipient of Soroptimist Ruby Award, Staten Island Advance Woman of Achievement, New York City Department of Cultural Affairs #PoetTweet Winner, Power Women in Business Change Maker Award, and New York City National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Emerging Leader Award. Holly is a professional member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), American Society for Public Administration (ASPA), and the National Organization for Human Services (NOHS). Ms. Bonner is also affiliated with the American Council for the Blind (ACB), NYC National Federation of the Blind (NFB), and Guide Dog Users of Empire State (GDUES).
