Dear Members of the MCNY Community,

It is with great enthusiasm that I announce and welcome Dr. Hamilton Raymond as the new Vice President for Enrollment Management & Student Affairs at Metropolitan College of New York.

I would like to take a moment to say thank you, Dean of Students Clotilde Ibarra, for stepping in as Interim and managing this significant responsibility with outstanding dedication and excellence. Your leadership and commitment have been truly inspiring and deeply appreciated.

Dr. Hamilton Raymond joins us as a distinguished leader in higher education, bringing with him a wealth of experience, innovation, and a commitment to fostering inclusivity and expanding opportunities for underserved communities.

A native of Brooklyn, Dr. Raymond brings over 15 years of exceptional experience in higher education leadership most recently having served as Chief Admissions Officer and Executive Director of Admissions at Lincoln University of Pennsylvania. His journey began in Brooklyn at Medgar Evers College, where he served as Assistant Director of Admissions, followed by his role at Brooklyn College as the Director of Student Life. He then took on the position of Director of Admissions and Enrollment at Johnson C. Smith University.

Dr. Raymond is a trailblazer in higher education management with a proven track record of developing innovative programs to enhance the student experience while addressing the evolving needs of diverse populations and fostering access, equity, and success in higher education. Notably, Dr. Raymond’s passion for closing the enrollment gap for young men of color has been the cornerstone of his career. He has championed initiatives such as EmpowerMENt, which not only recruits young male students of color but also empowers them to thrive academically and personally.

Dr. Raymond’s visionary perspective and hands-on leadership style make him a dynamic addition to the MCNY community. His ability to develop transformative strategies to increase student enrollment and retention aligns with our current challenges and his leadership will undoubtedly strengthen our efforts to provide opportunities for student success.

Dr. Raymond holds a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Buffalo State College, a Master of Science in Educational Psychology from Long Island University, and a Doctor of Education from Walden University. He is excited to return to his roots in the New York area, where he resides in New Jersey with his wife, Jocelyn, and their three children.

As we look forward to this new chapter, I am confident that Dr. Raymond’s expertise and dedication will lead to meaningful collaborations among our leadership, staff and faculty advance our mission of transforming lives through education and embracing the great opportunities that lie ahead.
