The MCNY Black Maternal Health Initiative (BMHI) is a student and community engagement project that seeks to respond to the existential crisis of Black maternal health in the U.S., New York City, and most specifically, the Bronx.

About

Our Mission

  • To support the intellectual life of the MCNY community with tools for critical inquiry;
  • To provide students foundational research skills needed to succeed in college and in the field, while also examining the social and political dimensions of information;
  • To  provide access to scholarly material, both in  print and online, along with research services and critical information literacy instruction;
  • To provide collaborative community space, resources, and cultural programing to foster lifelong learning.
