Metropolitan College of New York is pleased to welcome Tony Davis as Director of Student Success, bringing more than 20 years of experience in higher education, college access, enrollment, retention and youth development.
A native of East Harlem and a first-generation college graduate, Davis has built his career around helping students access higher education and supporting them as they work toward earning their degrees.
Most recently, Davis served as Project Director of the Upward Bound Program at St. John’s University. During his tenure, 100 percent of the program’s 2025 graduating seniors were accepted to four-year colleges, with the class receiving more than $4 million in scholarship offers.
Previously, Davis served as Director of College Now and Collaborative Programs at Baruch College, where he recruited, enrolled and registered more than 5,000 New York City public high school students and managed 56 school partnerships. His work at Baruch also included securing significant public and private funding to expand educational programming and college access. Earlier in his career, Davis helped more than 1,500 high school students navigate the college admissions process through the Upward Bound Program at Boys and Girls Harbor.
“Tony understands student success from both a professional and a personal perspective,” said Dr. Hamilton Raymond, Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Success. “He knows what it means to be the first in your family to go to college, and he has spent his career opening doors for students and helping them move forward. I am excited to have him join our team and bring that experience directly to our scholars.”
At MCNY, Davis will focus on strengthening the support and connections that help scholars remain engaged, overcome barriers and progress toward graduation.
Davis holds a B.A. in Communications and an M.P.A. in Operations and Management from Mount Saint Mary College.
