WHAT: Metropolitan College of New York (MCNY) celebrates the expansion of its already notable private art collection with “CUBA TODAY!,” an exhibit featuring work from a group of photographers chronicling various aspects of life in Cuba. CUBA TODAY! features an all-female group of American artists whose pieces cover a variety of perspectives from slices of ordinary life to glimpses at religion.
Not only will attendees be able to admire artwork and speak to the photographers themselves, but they will also be able to emerge themselves in an aspect of Latin culture by taking part in salsa dancing lessons. Additionally, Sandra Levinson, Director/Curator of the Center for Cuban Studies, will speak. Levinson founded the center in 1972 and has been at the helm of operations ever since.
