Education Administrator Dr. Manuel Sánchez Set to Lead Bronx Extension Center
NEW YORK, NY – June 24, 2013 — Metropolitan College of New York (MCNY) announced today the appointment of Dr. Manuel Sánchez as the new Director of the Bronx Extension Center (BEC). “A Bronx native, Dr. Sánchez will combine innate knowledge of his hometown along with his professional experiences as a teacher, adjunct professor and education coordinator to further the connection between BEC and the surrounding community,” said Terence Peavy, MCNY Executive Vice President for Enrollment Management. His appointment with MCNY begins today.
A former education director for United Bronx Parents, Inc., Dr. Sánchez has extensive programmatic and supervisory experience in guiding educational and counseling staff. Dr. Sanchez was key to interfacing with stakeholders, government regulators and community partners to ensure goals, objectives, and milestones were met in accordance with established timelines.
Dr. Sánchez received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from CUNY- Baruch College, a Juris Doctorate from SUNY Buffalo School of Law and a Master of Science in Education from CUNY- Queens College.
