Bronx, NY 7/26/17 — Metropolitan College of New York MS in Education: Dual Childhood/Special Education students and faculty participated in the South Bronx Rising Together Education Summit 2017. MCNY MSED Students are recipients of the Teachers Opportunity Corp II Scholarship program sponsored by New York State My Brothers’ Keeper Initiative.

The event, hosted by Hostos Community College on 7/26/17, brought together the South Bronx community and school partners to exchange ideas and work together on initiatives that have a positive impact on the education of children in the South Bronx.  Our TOC II Team reviewed key data and findings on student attendance and 3rd-grade reading proficiency and engaged in discussions with other stakeholders in improving educational outcomes. Some of the TOC II participants are completing their internships at a high-needs Bronx priority/focus elementary school.
