Members of the MCNY Community,

Today we remember the events of September 11, 2001.  At the Manhattan Campus, situated so close to the World Trade Center site, we are particularly well situated to reflect on the tragic loss of life and subsequent renewal.  Just two weeks ago the Sphere for Plaza Fountain, the original sculptural centerpiece of the World Trade Center, was returned to the Center site atop Liberty Park, after a long temporary installation at the Battery.  You can visit it in the elevated park just two blocks north of our campus.  In addition, those leaving the campus after sunset can witness the Tribute in Light, two columns of light recreating the fallen Trade Center towers from the roof of the Battery Parking Garage just a block to the south of us.  The twin columns are visible for miles.

Let’s all remember those lost, including those from our MCNY Community, and the heroic work to rescue and rebuild following the events so close to our doorstep.  We are honored to be part of the revitalization of our neighborhood.
