New York, NY, January 3, 2019 – Metropolitan College of New York (MCNY) announced today that Mr. John Edwards has been named Executive Director of the MCNY Bronx Campus and College-Wide Career Development.
“John has an undeniable record of successful accomplishments. He has demonstrated his ability to think broadly in support of school-wide initiatives,” said Dr. Tilokie Depoo, Chief Academic Officer and Dean for School of Business, who oversees the MCNY Bronx campus, “As an MCNY alum of the MPA program and an adjunct professor, he keeps his finger on the pulse of the needs of our students and has been an enormous contributor to their ability to advance. He has an infectious enthusiasm aimed at helping, and his strong communication and interpersonal skills will help execute MCNY’s vision for the Bronx Campus.”
For more than 20-years, John has commanded large-scale complex programs and workforce development initiatives. John began his tenure at MCNY in 2009 and left in 2015 to accept the role of Executive Director, Workforce Development at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. In 2017, he returned to MCNY where he oversaw the Office of Career Development. John has an extensive entrepreneurial background and is the co-founder of IManage Development, a Learning, and Development consulting company. The breadth of his experiences will prove to be a valuable asset to the College.

When you get, give.’,” says John Edwards, “My hope is that I can apply allthat I’ve learned, pay it forward and give to our Bronx community what is needed to advance our Campus and continue the strong bond we have formed with our neighbors. We have a long-term commitment to this community and I look forward to working with local businesses and government officials to keep the momentum going.”
John is Panamanian by birth and a New Yorker by spirit. He holds a Bachelor’s in Computer Science from Pace University and a Master in Public Affairs and Administration from MCNY. He is the father of three amazing teenage boys.
