Joanne Passaro stairwell at MCNY Manhattan CampusSeptember 14, 2020 – Metropolitan College of New York celebrates our President, Dr. Joanne Passaro on her second honor from City and State as a Higher Education Power 50 awardee.

The list, celebrating New York’s dedicated educators, identifies the most powerful members of New York’s colleges, universities, and centers of learning. These leaders are being recognized for their achievements, influence in policymaking, and connections to city and state government officials that help make a difference in education across the board.

Much like our students and alumni, Dr. Joanne Passaro’s vision for MCNY is the cornerstone of positive change. Since her appointment as President of Metropolitan College of New York in July 2018, Dr. Passaro has been meeting with New York City and State Council Members, Borough Presidents, Assembly Members, and State Senators for the advancement of Metropolitan College of New York and Higher Education as a whole.

This is Dr. Passaro’s third award from City & State. In January 2019, she was awarded as one of City & State’s and AARP’s 50 Over 50: The Age Disruptors and in April 2019, the inaugural Higher Education Power 50.
