Congratulations Dr. Joanne Passaro on being named to the 2021 City and State Higher Education Power 100. This is President Passaro’s third award in a row in this category and her fourth honor from City and State magazine!

The Award celebrates New York’s dedicated educators and identifies the most powerful members of New York’s colleges, universities, and centers of learning. These leaders are being recognized for their achievements, influence in policymaking, and connections to city and state government officials that help make a difference in education across the board.

Dr. Passaro puts students first as she has proven through her passionate, dedicated leadership during these times of crisis. Much like our students and alumni, Dr. Joanne Passaro’s vision for MCNY is the cornerstone of positive change. Since her appointment as President of Metropolitan College of New York in July 2018, Dr. Passaro has been meeting with New York City and State Council Members, Borough Presidents, Assembly Members, and State Senators for the advancement of Metropolitan College of New York and Higher Education as a whole.

In January 2019, Dr. Passaro was awarded as one of City & State’s and AARP’s 50 Over 50: The Age Disruptors.
