Physician, Public Health Crusader & Political Activist Dr. Deas To Deliver Keynote Address
Emergency and Disaster Management Pioneer Dr. B. Wayne Blanchard,  New York City Council Member Dr. Mathieu Eugene and  Correspondent & Photojournalist Dr. Ruth Gruber to Receive Honorary Degrees 

WHAT:            Metropolitan College of New York (MCNY) will host its 34th annual Commencement Ceremony at the Jacob Javits Center.  This year, more than 400 undergraduate and graduate students will receive degrees from MCNY.

 

WHO:              Physician, Public Health Crusader and Political Activist Gerald W. Deas MD, MPH, MA will deliver the keynote address. Additionally, MCNY will honor Emergency and Disaster Management (EDM) pioneer Dr. B. Wayne Blanchard with an honorary degree. Dr. Blanchard was instrumental in the early history of MCNY’s Emergency and Disaster Management degree program. He helped establish the masters programs, making it the 20th graduate program in the country in this emerging field. 

New York City Council Member Dr. Mathieu Eugene and Correspondent and Photojournalist Dr. Ruth Gruber will also receive honorary degrees for their accomplishments, serving as agents of change in education and journalism respectively.
