The Welfare to Careers Project (WTCP) is a program that works with recruitment agencies to assist in permanently lifting the under-served out of poverty.

Developed by The Education and Work Consortium, The Welfare To Career Project is a unique collaboration between Metropolitan College of New York, Pace University and Medgar Evers College of the City University of New York. The program links a college education to work experience and career development. Drawing on the broad and varied resources of its institutions, participants are offered a variety of educational opportunities and prepared for sustainable careers that will provide them with the opportunity and means to support their families.

Eligibility requirements:

  • Have an application on file.
  • Have completed a FAFSA (U.S. citizens and eligible non-citizens).
  • Be in good academic standing.
  • Not have any loans in default.

Eligibility requirements:

  • Have all required documents for acceptance to MCNY.
  • First use all eligible grants, such as Pell and TAP, before a scholarship/award can be applied to student account.
  • Complete and submit all required verification documents to the Office of Financial Aid within 30 days of the request.

An accredited institution, all our programs are designed for working professionals with accelerated timetables and flexible schedules.
