WHAT: The Metropolitan College of New York (MCNY) School for Business Media Management is hosting its 4th Annual MCNY Short Film Festival, themed “Reflections of a Dream.” Peter Anthony Andrews, a former NBC and Columbia Pictures executive, will be the keynote speaker of the two-day festival. Andrews played a major role in the success of some of the most memorable, award-winning shows in 20th century television including Little House on the Prairie, Columbo and Chips. Andrews currently runs Table 21 Films, an independent film production company that develops and produces narrative and documentary films. The first day of the festival will feature a moderated movie industry and filmmakers panel followed by the screening of the selected films the next day.
The MCNY Short Film Festival grew out of a classroom project and has developed into a platform for burgeoning filmmakers, providing real time project management experience for the school’s media management MBA students. The festival is a forum to celebrate both the business and creative aspects of the film industry, as well as a space for those involved to greater master and learn their craft.
