Say congratulations to Obiano Huntley! The MCNY MPA Adjunct Professor and 2014 Emergency and Disaster Management alumnus will be honored on May 3rd, 2018 as one Brooklyn’s Stars Under 40 at the legendary Grand Prospect Hall. Obiano Huntley was nominated for his leadership, professional presence and commitment to the communities he serves.
As Emergency Management Director, Huntley is responsible for managing the emergency preparedness program at New York City Health + Hospitals/Kings County and is always seeking to expand on his areas of expertise and build working relationships with individuals who share his affinity for Emergency and Disaster Management. Sharing his affinity for Emergency Management comes naturally as a professor at MCNY.
“By continuing to explore how emergency managers are innovating and implementing strategies with the interest of communities first, l seek to make a positive impact in everything I do,” says Huntley, “Working with students who share that same passion is rewarding. It is important to never stop learning so that I know that the students completing my course are at the top of their game.”
And it shows! Professor Huntley is revered by students and colleagues, alike.
Obiano Huntley is a graduate of the University of Guyana with a BA in International Relations and Affairs and a Masters of Public Affairs and Administration in Emergency and Disaster Management from Metropolitan College of New York. He holds a CEM from International Association of Emergency Managers and Level 1 Professional Continuity Practitioner certification from FEMA.
