MCNY Launching 10th Annual International Short Film & Video Festival

Organized by the MCNY students in the Media Management MBA program, the festival will hold an expert film-making panel from 6-7PM, showcasing movies, films, web series episodes, Instagram stories, music videos and more from 7-8:30 with an awards ceremony to follow. MCNY’s 10th International Annual Film and Video Festival will showcase videos and movies of all kinds, celebrating diverse stories and voices. We invite artists of all kinds to submit their projects and join our festival.

One of our distinguished film-making panelists is Filmmaker Kenya Cagle holds an MBA in Media Management from Metropolitan College of New York and former child actor in community and Off-Broadway theatre. He studied drama at High School of Performing Arts, television and communications at Empire State College where he received his AA & BA respectively. Since starting Caglevision, Inc., Kenya has produced nearly 30 films including 17 features that have won a number of awards at festivals worldwide, including best picture. In 2008, he was the Executive Producer for a TV series TK – The Series. In 2011 his film Black Heart won best Guerilla Feature Film at the largest action film festival in the world, Action on Film Festival. In 2018 his film Killing Joanne won six different awards. Currently, Mr. Cagle is working on a feature You Call Me Ugly with Bill Duke, Antonio Fargus and Laura London. He is also scheduled to do two other features this year, Dead To Right and Resurrection. Articles on Mr. Cagle’s progress have appeared in many newspapers and magazines including The Amsterdam News, Big Red, The New York Beacon, The African American Times, The New York Post, The New Yorker, Crain’s Business Report, The Hollywood Reporter and Black Enterprise Magazine.
