Jane Rubinsky

With great sadness, Metropolitan College of New York shares the news of Jane Rubinsky, a writer and communications consultant who died February 9, 2023, in New York City.

Jane became a member of the MCNY community in 2010, collaborating in donor development, alumni relations and chronicling the story of the College’s founding.

Jane approached every new project with wonder, as she always looked forward to learning from and working with interesting people. Over a career of four decades, Jane’s writing and editing work centered primarily on the performing arts and nonprofit organizations. She was the Senior Editor of The Juilliard Journal for over 15 years before coming to MCNY, followed by positions at Congregation Rodeph Sholom and The National Marine Educators Association.

Her personal mission aligned with MCNY’s mission. She was dedicated to empowering disadvantaged girls and women and furthering the rights and health of Native Americans.

As a young adult, Jane was a professional dancer. She majored in Contemporary Dance and received her Liberal Arts degree from Mount Holyoke College.
