Commissioner Gary P. Jenkins Day!
Gary Jenkins is formerly the Commissioner of New York City’s Department of Social Services and prior to that, the administrator of the nation’s largest social service agency, the Human Resources Administration (HRA). This proclamation is a validation of his service and dedication to New Yorkers in fighting poverty and income inequality for more than 30 years.
“It has been my honor and privilege to have served my fellow New Yorkers and colleagues with care and compassion for over 30 years. Thank you, Mayor Adams, for the faith and confidence to have led this incredible agency (The Department of Social Services). We are the safety net of the safety net for many vulnerable New Yorkers. My hat goes off to the incredible frontline staff. Keep shining!” said Gary Jenkins with pride and passion for his purpose and team; so many of which have been his colleagues for a good part of this chapter of his journey.
The MCNY Community is thankful to have Gary at the helm of our board of trustees with his unique vision as an alumnus and we look forward to the next chapter in Gary P. Jenkins’s story.
