Dr. Charles J. Gibbs has been recognized by City & State New York as one of the 2026 Black Trailblazers, announced at the start of Black History Month each year. The annual list highlights leaders across New York who are shaping progress in government, education, business, and community life.
This marks President Gibbs’ second consecutive nomination. Over the past year and a half, he has led Metropolitan College of New York through important milestones, opened new doors, strengthened partnerships, and brought clear focus to the College’s mission. His commitment to Purpose-Centered Education continues to create opportunity for Scholars and families while guiding MCNY’s growth in the communities we serve.
We are proud to celebrate President Gibbs and grateful for all he brings to the MCNY community. He is indeed a true trailblazer.
Congratulations to all of the honorees!
