New York, NY – May 8, 2025 – Metropolitan College of New York (MCNY) is pleased to announce the inaugural cohort of MCNY business students admitted to New York Law School’s Summer Pre-Law Program.

MCNY students, along with peers from other partner institutions across New York, New Jersey, and Long Island, applied to this competitive four-week program and met the required GPA and admissions criteria to receive admission. Designed for rising juniors and seniors, the Summer Pre-Law Program provides an immersive introduction to the foundations of legal education and potential career paths in the legal field.

Early exposure to legal education and professional development will open a pipeline to the legal profession for aspiring law students from Metropolitan College of New York. This is an amazing opportunity for our students. Many come to MCNY because of our foundation in social justice and the strength of our mission. There is no justice without law,” said Dr. Charles J. Gibbs, President of Metropolitan College of New York, Students who will be part of this program will gain an inside look at possible careers in the legal field—opportunities they may not have otherwise accessed or known about. We are excited for this partnership and deeply thank New York Law School and President Anthony Crowell for working with us to create such a meaningful opportunity for our students.”

Taught by NYLS faculty, the program equips students with critical thinking, legal writing, and advocacy skills while offering professional development support. Students will also receive ongoing engagement from NYLS during their junior and senior years, including resources and advising to support a smooth path into law school. Curriculum Highlights include:

  • Introduction to Legal Method
  • Written Legal Communication
  • Introduction to LSAT Preparation
  • Academic Success & Professional Development
  • Project-Based Capstone (simulated legal advocacy experience)
