Strategic hire reflects Metropolitan College of New York’s future-focused leadership and commitment to long-term financial sustainability.
June 2, 2025, New York, NY — Metropolitan College of New York (MCNY) proudly announces the appointment of Mr. Evens Wagnac as Chief Financial Officer, following a national search led by American Association of Governing Boards LLC (AGB Search LLC) and Dr. Carlton Brown, AGB Senior Fellow. Mr. Wagnac will officially join MCNY on June 9, 2025.

Gibbs, President of MCNY.
Mr. Evens Wagnac brings more than 20 years of experience across higher education, corporate finance, and the banking industry. He most recently served as Associate Dean for Finance and Administration at Rutgers University–New Brunswick and previously held the role of Controller and Deputy Chief Financial Officer at Essex County College. He has also held leadership positions at Xerox, JPMorgan Chase, TD Bank, and Citizens Bank. Throughout his career, he has successfully managed complex budgets—including operating budgets exceeding $75 million and capital budgets over $150 million—while aligning financial strategy with institutional growth and mission-driven outcomes. Mr. Wagnac earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Massachusetts, Boston, a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Phoenix and holds an Executive CFO Certification from Columbia Business School.
