As Executive Director of Legal & Risk Management at the New York Blood Center (NYBC), Channet stands at the intersection of healthcare, law, and ethics. She leads with vision and urgency—protecting one of the nation’s largest nonprofit blood centers while championing systems that put people first. Her work is about more than contracts and compliance. It’s about life. It’s about access. It’s about making sure every policy and procedure reflects the values of equity and care.

Born in the Bronx and raised in
Englewood, New Jersey, Channet was raised to pursue excellence—and to use that excellence in service of others. Her parents, a pathologist and an architect, modeled both achievement and impact. Early on, she knew she didn’t just want a job—she wanted a mission.
She found that mission in nonprofit healthcare, where she’s spent the last 16 years driving change from the inside. But when her responsibilities expa
nded into overseeing risk management and enterprise insurance, she knew she needed more
than experience—she needed expertise. That’s when she discovered Metropolitan College of New York.
“The MBA in Health Services and Risk Management was exactly what I needed, but more importantly, it aligned with who I am,” Channet says. “MCNY’s Purpose-Centered Education didn’t just fit my schedule—it fit my values.”
Balancing a full-time executive role, two young children, a long-term partnership, and graduate school would be overwhelming for most. But Channet thrived because she had a reason. “I wanted my kids to see that growth never stops. That education is not just a path to a better life—it’s a responsibility to lead with impact.”
She brings that same attitude to her work every day. Whether managing high-stakes legal decisions or building a culture of accountability and care, Channet doesn’t just protect her organization—she propels it forward.

Now, as she stands on the threshold of Commencement and on the cusp of the next chapter—her sights set on a Vice President role—she reflects not only on her journey, but on what it means for others.
“I’ve always wanted to be in a position where I could create real change,” she says. “This degree is helping me get there—not just for me, but for everyone I serve.”
To the graduates of MCNY, she offers more than a speech—she offers a mirror. A reminder that success is not about titles or circumstances. It’s about purpose, perseverance, and using your education to leave a legacy of progress.
Channet Jusino is not just a leader—she’s the embodiment of what it means to rise, give back, and carry the mission forward.
