At Metropolitan College of New York, we believe strong families start with supported fathers. The Bronx Fatherhood Initiative, Empowered Fathers: A Road to Success in Parenting, Purpose, and Prosperity, is here to meet fathers where they are and help them take the next step forward. Each year, 175 fathers have access to parenting education, workforce and college pathways, legal and reentry support, and emotional wellness services designed to help them reconnect with their children and build stability for themselves and their families.

This work happens alongside trusted partners who know the community well, including STRIVE and Union Settlement. Whether a father is navigating supervised visitation, working to restore contact, or actively raising his children, this program offers real support at every stage. In a borough where many families face financial hardship, this kind of guidance and opportunity can make a meaningful difference.

The initiative is funded by the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development and reflects MCNY’s commitment to Purpose-Centered Education in action. If you are a father in need of support, or know someone who could benefit from this program, please reach out. You do not have to be an MCNY student to participate. This is a community effort because when individuals grow, our Bronx community grows stronger…Bronx Strong!
