Message from our Associate Dean of School for Public Affairs & Administration
Dear Students, Alumni, and Community Partners,
It is a true honor to welcome you to the School for Public Affairs and Administration at Metropolitan College of New York in my role as Associate Dean.
At the heart of our school is a shared commitment to building better, fairer, and stronger communities. We believe public service is fundamentally about meaningful action. Because of this, we offer a practical curriculum that looks far beyond traditional textbooks. We focus on bridging the gap between our classroom discussions and the vital work you do in the real world. Our ultimate goal is for the students to have a lasting IMPACT in their own communities. We want to empower our students to become effective problem-solvers who can navigate complex social challenges and lead with confidence.
It all begins with MCNY’s unique Purpose-Centered Education model
It combines instruction in the classroom with practice in the field. During each semester or Purpose, you take what you’ve learned and apply it to the real world through a Constructive Action® (CA) project. In your CA, you will identify a real need or opportunity in an organization and, through scholarly research, propose a meaningful intervention. This intervention will have the potential to improve the lives of the citizens that you and your organization serve.
Our graduates go on to do great things: They improve existing non-profits and start new ones; lead government agencies and first-responder teams; they are socially responsible, contributing members of our global community who give back—while getting ahead.
An accredited institution, all our programs are designed for working professionals with accelerated timetables and flexible schedules.
